MESSaGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear Community Members and Visitors,

Welcome to the official website of the Ethiopian Association in the Greater Toronto Area and Surrounding Regions (EAGTA+SR).

Over the past year, we have made significant strides in enhancing our services to meet the evolving needs of our community. From crisis intervention and newcomer integration to seniors’ socio-cultural anti-isolation programs and IRCC resettlement services, our commitment to empowering Ethiopian-Canadian families and individuals remains steadfast.

A major milestone for us this year was the completion of our 2024–2028 Strategic Plan, developed with the expertise of an outsourced consultant. This visionary plan has paved the way for the recruitment of our Executive Director after a decade-long vacancy. Under strong leadership, we are achieving remarkable progress and positioning the Association for long-term growth.

Our weekly seminars are gaining recognition from a wide range of professional associations, reflecting the value of our initiatives. Meanwhile, our advocacy efforts are focused on ensuring newcomers receive the support they need from all levels of government, while our cultural programs play a vital role in helping Ethiopian-Canadian families preserve their identity and values.

The future of EAGTA+SR is brighter than ever. Together, as a united community, we are building a stronger foundation for generations to come. Thank you for your continued trust and support.
